Life Large Case Underwriting Consultant – Principal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and analyze both medical and financial risks for cases ranging from routine to highly complex across various face amounts.

• Relay underwriting decisions to the producer or FMO and collaborate with internal distribution to communicate the offer when necessary.

• Offer technical assistance to the underwriting team and the Underwriting Director.

• Provide informal leadership to the underwriting team through education, workload management, and enhancements to processes.

• Travel to deliver presentations, representing Allianz Life at industry events and to distribution partners.

• Relay underwriting decisions to field distribution, agents, and FMOs.

• Effectively correspond with both internal and external customers regarding the status of cases.

• Serve as a team lead, mentor, and coach to fellow underwriters and Enterprise Operations staff.

• Suggest enhancements to the internal Underwriting guidelines, operational procedures, and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Life Insurance Underwriting is required.

• A four-year degree is necessary, preferably in Business, Communications, or Medical fields of study, or equivalent work experience.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
