License Advisory Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Become an authority on AGPLv3 and various other open-source licenses.

• Gain a deep understanding of the commercial licensing models for Apryse/iText software, both current and historical.

• Work closely with the Sales team during client interactions, offering your expertise as required.

• Identify and examine potential instances of open-source license non-compliance within customer environments.

• Facilitate discussions with engineering and legal teams to clarify compliance deficiencies and associated risks.

• Convert technical findings into understandable licensing consequences under AGPL and similar licenses.

• Develop resolution strategies, ensuring alignment with commercial licensing when applicable.

• Collaborate with Sales to advance compliance-driven opportunities.

• Keep organized documentation of all engagements in Salesforce.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software, SaaS, or developer-centric environments.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Solution Engineering, Pre-Sales Technical Sales, Software Compliance or Licensing, or IP/Legal-adjacent roles (paralegal experience is advantageous).

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including build, deployment, and integration patterns, and their impact on software licensing and compliance.

• Ability to engage confidently with technical stakeholders such as engineers and architects.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex legal and technical concepts clearly.

• Comfortable managing difficult conversations.

• An analytical mindset with the capability to link technical behavior to licensing ramifications.

• Ability to work autonomously and navigate through ambiguity.
