This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Reviews patient medical records and extracts data for the Trauma Registry.
• Accurately and consistently applies registry specifications, definitions, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and abstraction guidelines.
• Interprets clinical documentation and inputs detailed injury and care data into the trauma registry database, encompassing mechanism of injury, injury severity, clinical course, interventions, complications, and outcomes in line with Level I trauma standards.
• Inputs precise and comprehensive data into designated registry platforms, EHRs, vendor tools, or other data collection systems.
• Maintains a high standard of abstraction accuracy, completeness, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Achieves assigned productivity goals, weekly progress targets, and meets internal and client deadlines.
• Engages in quality assurance initiatives, including feedback, correction, validation, and IRR reviews.
• Communicates professionally with account leads, team members, and client contacts when clarification is necessary.
• Upholds strict confidentiality and adheres to ADN, client, HIPAA, and data security regulations.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Level I Trauma Registry abstraction experience.
• Current educational qualifications in trauma registry and coding are required, including documentation of completion for the Trauma Registry Course, AAAM AIS Coding Course, and an ICD-10 coding course completed within the last five years.
• Capability to independently abstract Level I Trauma cases using registry specifications and clinical documentation.
• Comprehensive understanding of healthcare quality reporting, registry abstraction, clinical documentation review, and medical record interpretation.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong focus on detail, organization, documentation, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in navigating various EHRs, registry platforms, vendor tools, and data collection systems as assigned.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
• Contractors must possess high-speed secure internet, a PC or laptop, and at least two monitors.
• Preferred: Experience with trauma applications, Level I Trauma reports, and/or other related data collection tools.
• Experience with IRR, QA review, audit validation, and/or abstraction accuracy review.
