This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with various teams to take ownership of the legal tech stack: assess, select, implement, and manage software and AI-driven tools to enhance team performance and efficiency.
• Work alongside IT and procurement to guarantee that tools are seamlessly integrated, adopted, and continuously refined.
• Develop and sustain dashboards and reporting infrastructure to provide leadership with insights into departmental performance.
• Analyze and audit existing legal workflows to pinpoint bottlenecks, redundancies, and areas for enhancement.
• Create and implement scalable processes tailored for high-volume legal tasks.
• Formulate and maintain standard operating procedures, playbooks, and self-service resources for internal clients.
• Cultivate relationships with external counsel and legal vendors, encompassing rate negotiations, matter budgeting, and invoice examination.
• Enforce billing guidelines and analyze external counsel expenditures to uncover potential cost savings.
• Oversee legal billing and e-billing software along with matter management systems.
• Establish and maintain legal department KPIs, scorecards, and operational reporting.
• Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the legal department.
• Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Develop and manage a legal knowledge management system (including templates, precedents, FAQs, and training materials).
• Conduct training sessions for legal and non-legal stakeholders on processes, tools, and self-service resources.
• Create onboarding programs for new members of the legal team.
• Supervise and enhance compliance with various government relations regulatory requirements, including the tracking and submission of necessary lobbying and political giving disclosures.
• Provide support for board and stockholder administration as required, including maintaining the action tracker, filing consents, minutes, and meeting materials, and coordinating upcoming approvals.
• Administer the annual renewal of foreign qualifications across all registered jurisdictions, monitoring deadlines and filing requirements to ensure timely compliance.
• Aid in the administration of the company’s equity plans, which includes processing award releases, maintaining cap table records, coordinating quarterly grant cycles, and ensuring adherence to applicable securities and tax regulations.
• Over 5 years of experience in legal operations, law firm management, management consulting, or a closely related domain.
• Profound knowledge of legal technology, including CLM platforms, matter management systems, e-billing tools, and contract repositories.
• Proven track record of spearheading process improvement initiatives from diagnosis to implementation.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Exceptional project management skills with the capacity to juggle multiple workstreams concurrently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; capable of presenting complex subjects clearly to executives.
• Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to build trust with attorneys and business stakeholders.
• Experience within a high-growth technology company.
• Familiarity with AI tools utilized in a legal context.
• Knowledge of data privacy and information governance.
• CLOC or PMP certification.
