This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Evaluating and scrutinizing a substantial amount of documents and email communications among involved parties.
β’ Issues may pertain to construction projects, director and office liabilities, subrogated claims, and may involve reviewing technical engineering documents.
β’ Composing memoranda regarding pertinent documents assessed.
β’ Aiding in the preparation for questioning of parties and retaining experts.
β’ Recognizing and extracting essential documents.
β’ Participating in regular team meetings to report progress and offer guidance on subsequent actions.
β’ Contributing to and supporting the formulation of case strategies.
β’ Helping to prepare for hearings.
β’ Addressing other related requests that may emerge.
β’ A degree in civil law from a respected university.
β’ An active member in good standing of the Alberta Bar.
β’ 1 to 5 years of pertinent litigation experience.
β’ Strong judgment and legal reasoning skills.
β’ Meticulousness and attention to detail.
β’ Dedication and diligence.
β’ A spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
β’ Familiarity with Relativity, Nextpoint, or other document review platforms is considered an asset.
β’ Regular team meetings will occur virtually.
β’ Fee earner contractual role expected to last for approximately 6 months.
