This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Provide legal assistance to Coupa’s Go-To-Market sales team throughout the EMEA region.
• Negotiate and draft SaaS master subscription agreements, data processing agreements, AI terms, professional services contracts, partner agreements, and regulatory addenda, including DORA.
• Manage service desk requests for the EMEA Legal team across various legal topics.
• Counsel on regulatory and customer compliance requirements within the EU/EEA.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of Coupa’s products, SaaS solutions, security measures, and data protection policies.
• Collaborate with sales operations, finance, product, privacy, security, Deal Desk, and other relevant teams.
• Address customer success challenges and commercial disputes with client representatives and internal teams.
• Assist in standardizing documents, creating guidelines, and enhancing team efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop training resources and conduct impromptu sales enablement sessions.
• Support additional assigned projects as needed.
• Act as the primary legal advisor for the DACH Region while providing support across various jurisdictions in EMEA.
• Report directly to the Head of Legal for EMEA.
• Must be a qualified German lawyer.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English is essential.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 4 years in-house within the technology sector.
• Ideally, experience within the US software industry is preferred.
• Comfortable engaging directly with strategic and regulated clients, as well as internal stakeholders and executives.
• Capable of addressing complex contractual matters swiftly and working independently.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Highly responsive with a service-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in organizing, prioritizing, and managing deadlines in a dynamic and challenging environment.
• Skilled at developing and maintaining strong working relationships across legal and supportive departments.
• Creative thinker when faced with new challenges and in pursuing innovative solutions.
• Committed to excellence and ensuring customer success.
• A Master of Laws degree or membership in good standing with a recognized international bar is advantageous but not mandatory.
