Legal Counsel – Syndikusrechtsanwalt

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to operational project business.

• Assisting with grid connection agreements, reservation agreements, BKZ/cost-sharing agreements, and correspondence linked to grid matters.

• Offering legal support for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, co-development, and project acquisition contracts.

• Assessing and enhancing EPC, OEM, O&M, marketing/offtake, service, and employment contracts.

• Creating and maintaining contract templates, legal checklists, process standards, and decision memos.

• Coordinating with external specialist law firms, particularly in areas such as energy law, grid regulation, construction law, corporate law, M&A, and employment law.

• Assisting management with negotiations, committee/board submissions, and strategic legal issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fully qualified lawyer possessing First and Second State Examinations (Staatsexamen).

• Ideally, 2–4 years of professional experience in a law firm, legal department, energy/infrastructure company, project development, or transactional environment.

• Admission as a lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) or Syndikusrechtsanwalt is preferred; alternatively, a willingness to apply for admission is acceptable.

• Strong legal expertise in contract review, drafting, and negotiation.

• Genuine interest in the energy sector, infrastructure, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), grid connection, project development, and M&A.

• Commercial mindset with the ability to conduct clear risk analyses, provide pragmatic solutions, and communicate decisively.

• Proficient in German and possesses good English language skills.
