Legal Counsel / Legal Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Focus on IT Security, contracts & international coordination

• Central point of contact for operational legal matters in Germany

• Interface between Legal, IT Security, People & Culture, Finance, and external law firms

• Work in a hands-on, structured, and pragmatic manner

• Efficiently coordinate inquiries, accurately assess risks, and establish scalable processes

• IT Security & Compliance: Security questionnaires, data protection/security appendices, support for ISO 27001 / SOC2 / HIPAA

• Contracts & international setups: Creation/review/coordination of MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, and country-specific adaptations (DE/USA/others)

• Legal Ops: Templates, playbooks, escalation logic ("when to involve external counsel?"), policies (e.g., vendor/privacy/security)

• Contract Repository: Build/develop a contract repository, due-diligence-ready (Fundraising/M&A)

• Multi-jurisdiction setup & make-or-buy: Legal coverage for corporate, labor, contract, IP, data protection across countries; manage external counsel

• Labor law (DE + coordination): Initial assessment of contracts/changes/terminations, collaboration with People & Culture and specialized law firms, EOR setups

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed legal studies (fully qualified lawyer or equivalent) or relevant several years of professional experience in a similar Legal/Legal Ops role

• Several years of experience in the IT, tech, or SaaS environment

• Excellent understanding of:

• - Contract law (especially international contracts, MSAs)

• - Data protection & IT security context

• Experience collaborating with external law firms and international stakeholders

• Structured, solution-oriented working style with a strong coordination mindset

• Proficient in German and English, both spoken and written
