Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to stakeholders on matters of corporate governance and compliance.

• Oversee group compliance training, legal policies, and comprehensive compliance programs.

• Ensure that the business adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains best practice standards.

• Assist the Legal Resource Team with advice regarding joint venture agreements and related documentation.

• Offer ad hoc corporate legal advice as needed.

• Support commercial contract issues as necessary.

• Cultivate relationships with senior stakeholders and deliver clear, practical advice on complex matters.

• Develop and spearhead governance and compliance initiatives throughout the Specsavers Group.

• Report directly to the Head of Legal – Corporate & Company Secretarial.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a qualified lawyer.

• Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience.

• Background in corporate or commercial law is preferred.

• Experience in advising on corporate governance, company secretarial matters, and compliance-related issues.

• Possess strong technical legal expertise.

• Ability to work independently.

• Confidence in managing relationships with senior stakeholders.

• Capable of providing clear, practical advice on intricate issues.

• Skill in quickly establishing credibility and influencing effectively.

• Ability to collaborate across various functions.

• This position is a 9-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
