This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Monitor federal and state laws, regulations, agency directives, enforcement actions, and key court rulings that impact Automotive Advertising, Sales, and F&I.
• Conduct research and analyze legal and regulatory requirements affecting automotive retailers.
• Assess legal and regulatory changes and offer practical implementation guidance for internal teams and clients.
• Stay informed about state-specific automotive retail laws and consumer protection regulations.
• Develop, improve, and expand KPA's compliance libraries for all 50 states, including regulatory matrices, state summaries, decision trees, reference guides, FAQs, and implementation instructions.
• Standardize compliance methodologies and interpretations across consulting projects.
• Translate intricate legal and regulatory concepts into actionable operational advice.
• Create and enhance client-facing educational resources, compliance alerts, and regulatory communications.
• Assist with advertising review processes and regulatory inquiry operations.
• Improve review checklists, playbooks, examples, and reporting guidelines utilized by ASF consultants.
• Support AI-driven report generation workflows while maintaining professional judgment and editorial scrutiny.
• Analyze recurring compliance issues to bolster consultant guidance, educational materials, and review processes.
• Utilize AI technologies for regulatory research, compliance analysis, report creation, and knowledge management.
• Design AI-assisted prompts, knowledge agents, review workflows, and reporting tools.
• Advance automated advertising review capabilities through legal and regulatory reasoning, state-specific criteria, and AI-enhanced analysis.
• Assess AI-generated compliance analyses and recommendations for legal accuracy, consistency, transparency, and practicality.
• Collaborate with teams across Legal, Consulting, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Learning & Development, Client Success, and Executive Leadership.
• Report directly to the Chief Legal & Strategy Officer and collaborate with the National Sr. Director of ASFI and the Director of Legal Affairs.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in automotive retail compliance, dealership operations, consumer protection, regulatory affairs, legal research, compliance consulting, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Automotive Advertising, Sales, and F&I.
• Proven ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of transforming legal and regulatory concepts into practical business advice.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Proven proficiency in utilizing AI tools to improve research, knowledge management, document creation, or professional workflows.
• Ability to work collaboratively across various business functions.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws regulating automotive retail, including the FTC Act, UDAP/UDAAP principles, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, GLBA, privacy laws, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and state advertising regulations.
• Experience in maintaining or enhancing compliance guidance, policies, educational materials, regulatory resources, or knowledge-management systems.
• Bonus potential of up to 10% annually.
• Flexible work arrangement with mostly remote options.
• Occasional travel (around 5%) for internal meetings, client engagements, training, and industry conferences.
