This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee intricate management of outside counsel engagements within corporate legal departments.
• Act as a senior trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, including General Counsel, Heads of Legal Operations, and Procurement leaders.
• Deliver comprehensive advisory services covering matter intake, panel design, strategic sourcing, fee structuring, legal project management, e-billing, invoice review, and spend governance.
• Transform data and operational insights into strategic recommendations that enhance cost control, performance management, and program development.
• Direct project execution alongside Consultants and Analysts, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
• Mentor and coach junior team members, providing structured feedback.
• Supervise workstreams, timelines, advisory methodologies, and deliverables.
• Create and enhance standardized frameworks, playbooks, templates, and methodologies for managing outside counsel.
• Systematize repeatable advisory methods across intake, matter management, LPM, panel governance, and e-billing.
• Contribute to PERSUIT’s advisory model and internal knowledge repository.
• Conduct spend analyses and diagnostic assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Assist consultants and analysts in advanced data interpretation and narrative development.
• Ensure recommendations are based on measurable financial and operational impacts.
• Participate in webinars, reports, and industry events.
• Represent the Legal Advisory Team during client and prospect engagements.
• Help establish PERSUIT as a leader in outside counsel management strategy and innovation.
• Collaborate with Client Experience, Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data teams.
• Provide structured client feedback to shape the roadmap and go-to-market strategies.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in client-facing consulting or leadership within in-house legal operations.
• Proven track record of leading complex projects and managing senior executive stakeholders.
• Extensive practical experience in outside counsel management, including matter intake and governance, matter management systems, legal project management, alternative fee arrangements, strategic sourcing, panel management, e-billing implementation, and invoice review processes.
• Background within corporate legal departments, legal operations, consulting, or law firm pricing/operations roles.
• Advanced data literacy with the ability to independently manipulate, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
• Experience in translating financial and operational data into executive-level recommendations.
• Proficiency with Excel and analytical tools.
• Familiarity with e-billing or matter management platforms is strongly preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Current, valid work authorization in the United States is required.
• Visa or work-permit sponsorship is not available.
• U.S.-based location is required; a location in New York is strongly preferred.
