This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Administer and oversee both company-specific and legally required leave programs, which include FMLA, ADA, state-mandated leaves, Workers' Compensation, and proprietary policies.
• Utilize leave management systems to monitor, document, and manage leave cases, ensuring precision in data and timely completion of workflows.
• Collect, assess, and process leave documentation, eligibility details, approvals, and employee communications.
• Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding leave status, documentation requirements, benefits implications, and inquiries related to leave.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Human Resources, and third-party vendors concerning leave-related pay and benefits matters, such as PTO utilization, disability payments, leave pay coordination, benefits continuation, and arrears management.
• Process changes in employee status related to leaves, including system transactions, return-to-work procedures, and record updates.
• Complete, submit, and maintain leave documentation, state disability forms, and case records.
• Coordinate communication with employees, leadership, Human Resources, vendors, and cross-functional partners to resolve issues effectively.
• Monitor and manage employee accommodation requests and associated documentation.
• Investigate and address non-routine leave, payroll, and benefits issues; propose solutions and escalate when necessary.
• Provide training and support for less experienced team members.
• Engage in process enhancements, system upgrades, special projects, and the development of standard operating procedures and reference materials.
• Experience in managing Leave of Absence cases across multiple states.
• Strong understanding of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, and various state leave programs, as well as benefits regulations.
• Proven experience handling complex payroll interactions related to leave administration.
• Proficient in AbsenceTracker or a comparable leave management system.
• Capability to manage a high volume of cases and prioritize competing demands.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to follow-through on outstanding items.
• Clear and professional communication skills with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify process gaps or missing steps.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to privacy regulations.
• Skill in accurately editing template communications and sending error-free messages.
• Associate degree required, along with relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in leave administration, benefits, HR operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
