This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary editorial reviewer for eLearning materials, instructor-led training resources, assessments, workbooks, and printed publications.

• Edit materials for grammatical accuracy, clarity, tone, and language suitable for learners.

• Ensure content aligns with organizational standards regarding readability, structure, and accessibility.

• Maintain, revise, and enforce the Training Product Development style guide.

• Set editorial standards across various learning formats and provide guidance to team members on editorial best practices.

• Prepare final manuscripts for production in print format.

• Collaborate with designers for layout evaluations, pagination, captions, tables, callouts, and other print-specific components.

• Review and authorize print proofs in coordination with internal teams and external vendors.

• Work alongside instructional designers, graphic designers, project managers, and subject matter experts.

• Oversee editorial timelines and coordinate reviews to ensure production deadlines are met.

• Maintain version control, monitor revisions, and uphold content integrity throughout the development process.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience or an equivalent background.

• Proven experience in editing instructional, educational, technical, or professional learning content.

• Strong grasp of grammar, syntax, and editorial style guidelines, such as the Chicago Manual of Style or similar resources.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistency across extensive volumes of content.

• Experience in editing digital, print, and multimedia scripts.

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

• Background in association, nonprofit, or training product sectors.

• Familiarity with terminology related to learning design and adult learning principles.

• Experience in preparing manuscripts for print production, including familiarity with InDesign and reviewing proofs.

• Understanding of accessibility standards for written content, including WCAG 2.3 AA.
