
Lead Traveling Cabling Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engaging with clients to discuss project scope and specific tasks.
• Installing, terminating, testing, certifying, and labeling CAT5, CAT6, and Single/Multi Mode fiber.
• Constructing complete IDF/MDF setups, including the installation of racks, cabinets, and ladder racking.
• Organizing cables and installing fiber channel trays.
• Drilling and cutting ceiling tiles, penetrating firewalls, and applying UL approved fire penetration solutions, including fire sleeves and fire stops.
• Installing various network devices, including wireless access points, digital signage, and security cameras.
• Leading installation crews, including subcontractors.
• Diagnosing and repairing issues with copper and fiber connections.
• Installing, cutting, and bending EMT conduit and raceway as necessary to complete pathways.
• Documenting and reporting completed tasks daily to the project manager.
• Upholding service quality by establishing and enforcing industry and organizational standards.
• Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing assigned tasks as required.
• Setting a strong example and adhering to all policies, including attendance and dress codes.
• Effectively and professionally collaborating with internal and external customers.
• Continuously communicating verbally through phone, email, and fax systems throughout the day.
• Possessing the ability to drive for business purposes and maintain a clean driving record.
• This position necessitates a minimum of 80% travel to customer job sites, often requiring extended periods of work away from home.
• A College or Vocational Trade degree is preferred; however, a high school diploma is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of cabling experience, including at least 1 year in a project lead role managing other technicians.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
• A technical understanding of voice, data, and fiber optic systems is essential.
• Capable of producing detailed documentation.
• Experience with cabling and fiber testing and certification tools is necessary.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints to provide clear direction and understanding of work requirements to team members.
• Skilled in customer interaction and delivering exceptional service.
• Capable of climbing ladders, crawling, kneeling, and reaching overhead as needed.
• Ability to distinguish between colors for termination requirements.
