This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Offer tactical guidance, set priorities, assign responsibilities, coordinate projects, and provide expertise and support to technicians at job sites.
• Ensure technicians execute their work safely while receiving the necessary technical and administrative training.
• Dedicate 95% of time to billable work orders.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with work order specifications.
• Conduct minor plumbing maintenance on toilets, urinals, valve assemblies, faucets, and automatic flush sensors.
• Execute routine painting, carpentry, general maintenance, wall and floor repairs, door repairs, and touch-up tasks.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance that does not require a license, including fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets.
• Conduct service inspections and asset evaluations.
• Guide, mentor, and impart trade knowledge to technicians in the field.
• Train new hires on EMCOR field organizational practices and procedures.
• Monitor technician workmanship and the accuracy of related administrative tasks.
• Assist technicians with complex or specialized work orders as necessary based on geography.
• Act as a subject matter expert in facilities maintenance.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager.
• High School diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.), or Specialty Floor Care is preferred.
• A minimum of five years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, is required; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Background in one or more building trades is essential.
• Must hold relevant certifications and licenses.
• Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to read and understand safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Capability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Skill in presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Proficiency in using handheld devices and business systems or document management database software.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Compliance with relevant codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems in buildings.
• Willingness to travel locally between properties on a daily basis.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Required to operate a company vehicle daily.
• Capability to utilize necessary safety equipment, including steel toe shoes, hearing protection, hard hats, eye protection, and hand protection.
• Ability to adhere to OSHA lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines.
