Lead Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversees the team and independently facilitates the global design, implementation, and upkeep of virtualization infrastructure.

• Offers insights and expertise to management and users regarding strategic approaches and best practices.

• Serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

• Addresses complex challenges and provides a fresh perspective on existing solutions.

• Manages the design, development, and maintenance of the physical infrastructure, network, and layout of a data center.

• Establishes standards and guidelines.

• Ensures sufficient capacity for corporate computing requirements and identifies capacity trends.

• Coordinates or leads reliability testing and develops disaster recovery plans.

• Delivers regular updates on status, operations, incidents, and changes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience - Required.

• Over 8 years of experience managing data center resources and virtual hosting platforms - Required.

• Proficient in working with Unix, Linux, Windows, and container-based systems - Required.

• Strong ability to automate and uphold automation for core job functions - Required.

• In-depth understanding of data center layout planning, networking, and life cycle management - Required.

• Extensive experience in installing, configuring, and automating various operating systems - Required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of trends in DevOps, micro-services, and automation orchestration - Required.

• Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management - Required.

• Significant experience designing and implementing configuration management solutions across diverse operating systems and virtualization environments - Required.
