Lead Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, implementation, and upkeep of edge infrastructure, encompassing servers, networking, and various infrastructure components.

• Guarantee high levels of availability, performance, and security enhancements for the systems.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, offering technical direction, objectives, and support.

• Execute and manage automation for system provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.

• Set and uphold best practices for systems engineering, observability, and incident response.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including product, R&D, network, security, and support.

• Continuously enhance configuration management, automation, observability, and agentic workflows and tools.

• Engage in on-call rotations and incident management as required.

• Assess emerging technologies and suggest improvements to infrastructure and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Linux/*nix environments.

• Proficient in scripting and automation tools such as Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.

• Strong grasp of networking, security, and storage concepts.

• Significant experience with agentic coding.

• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

• 6+ years of experience in systems engineering/SRE, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, and Victoria Logs.

• Understanding of security and performance troubleshooting methodologies.

• Experience in web security and a broader understanding of AI.

• Knowledge of BGP and associated networking protocols.

• Programming skills in C, Go, Python, or Rust.
