Lead Specialist, Finance Business Partner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term planning.

• Deliver variance analysis, performance commentary, and financial insights that are ready for decision-making.

• Collaborate with operational leaders on business cases, investments, pricing strategies, and cost optimization.

• Generate timely management accounts, KPI dashboards, and conduct month-end analyses.

• Assist in strategic and operational planning for Pearson’s Enterprise business.

• Enhance reporting, forecasting, and finance workflows through standardization and automation.

• Develop practical cross-functional solutions, including visibility into workforce and hiring data.

• Uphold strong controls, governance, and alignment with group finance requirements.

• Collaborate with leaders across HR, strategy, sales, delivery, and product departments.

• Report directly to the Finance Director of Enterprise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Substantial experience in FP&A or financial advisory, preferably within a large, matrixed, or fast-paced organization.

• Proven ability to work effectively with non-financial stakeholders and influence senior-level decisions.

• Exceptional logical problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and commercial judgment.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

• Experience in financial modeling and scenario analysis.

• Skill in converting complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

• Proactive mindset focused on process improvement and navigating through ambiguity.

• Strong communication skills, ability to provide constructive challenges, and reliable ownership of tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Practical experience with AI in a professional setting, or a genuine interest in its development.

• Preference for candidates located on the East Coast, though strong applicants from other regions in the US may also be considered.
