This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the expansion of Supply Chain Solutions and Dedicated Transportation Solution offerings.
• Create solutions that provide financial benefits to customers.
• Comprehend customer business requirements and propose viable, sustainable designs that align with both customer needs and Ryder’s capabilities.
• Aid pursuit teams in formulating win plans that are consistent with solution designs.
• Craft and present persuasive proposals that impact customer decisions.
• Support newly awarded business through startup and transition design assumptions to Operations and SCE CI resources.
• Act as a vital team member throughout the new-business pursuit phases from initiation to successful startup transition.
• Specialize in multiple design disciplines while utilizing advanced analytical techniques.
• Oversee or mentor a small team of Solutions Design Engineers.
• Implement processes to create, redesign, or optimize logistics networks.
• Convey designs and solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Review RFPs, clarify discrepancies, formulate hypotheses, and assist in bid submissions.
• Validate, cleanse, and profile data; establish baselines and modeling scenarios.
• Compute labor, equipment, facility, and expense requirements.
• Develop process flows, operational concepts, value propositions, and system concepts in collaboration with IT.
• Coordinate with Pricing and other departments on cost and pricing models.
• Formulate optimization scenarios and strategies.
• Meet with customers and cross-functional bid-response teams.
• Support technical reviews and design-validation meetings.
• Follow up on implementation by verifying and adjusting deployed processes.
• Enhance engineering tools and methodologies by applying industry best practices.
• Lead consulting projects by identifying customer pain points and proposing solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering is mandatory.
• A minimum of six years of experience in the transportation industry is required.
• At least six years of experience in warehousing and/or manufacturing is necessary.
• Proficiency in Simio is required.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, are essential.
• In-depth knowledge of effective metrics programs and sustainable, measurable network design is required.
• Extensive understanding of dedicated services and managed transportation networks.
• Familiarity with transportation equipment such as dry van, temperature-controlled, flatbed, and specialized equipment is necessary.
• Expertise in transportation design tools including JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, and Tableau is required.
• Profound knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, various warehouse types, layout/design, and Lean methodologies.
• Understanding of material handling and automation, including powered industrial trucks, racking, storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor/sortation systems, and AS/RS.
• Knowledge of warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST, simulation software, Manhattan Scale, and labor management systems.
• Capability to analyze and design intricate transportation and warehousing networks.
• Exceptional data organization and cleansing abilities.
• Skill in influencing project teams using facts, statistics, and analytics.
• Ability to grasp complex supply chain and transportation solutions.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in translating complex designs, concepts, and regulations into understandable terms.
• Competence in establishing and maintaining professional relationships across various organizational levels.
