Lead Solar Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and fix utility-scale solar systems, which include inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.

• Conduct various tests such as LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans.

• Supervise and lead a team of 4 or more field technicians at active solar farm locations.

• Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure projects remain on schedule.

• Carry out operations and maintenance (O&M) for utility-scale solar plants.

• Review completed work to confirm it meets quality and safety standards.

• Implement safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E) on-site.

• Identify and troubleshoot system issues directly in the field.

• Complete work orders, service logs, and necessary documentation.

• Manage and maintain the company vehicle and tools.

• Mentor and assist junior technicians in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar (solar farms / ground-mount systems).

• Proven experience in leading crews of 4 or more or serving as the lead technician on-site.

• Familiarity with megawatt-scale PV systems (not residential rooftop solar).

• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and repair, specifically with inverters, DC systems, and power electronics.

• Background in solar O&M / maintenance work.

• Understanding of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety regulations.

• Experience utilizing multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing tools.

• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
