Lead Software Engineer – Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and lead the multi-year development of CD Baby’s automated testing practice.

• Choose tools for UI/end-to-end, API, contract, integration, performance, and load testing.

• Design and manage CI/CD test integration utilizing ArgoCD.

• Establish a strategy for test data, manage environments, and create reliable engineering patterns.

• Oversee the test suite for the flagship members application and the .com marketing site.

• Develop coverage for the .NET monolith, Next.js front end, and new services.

• Assess usability, accessibility, stability, and functional correctness.

• Utilize AI for test authoring, suite generation, maintenance, and coverage analysis.

• Integrate with a cross-functional Platform team and engage in agile ceremonies.

• Represent the customer and quality perspective during story refinement.

• Implement automated tests for each story.

• Guide engineers through quality initiatives, reviews, and collaborative efforts.

• Report directly to the Director of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on test automation, or equivalent experience as a Senior/Staff/Lead SDET, SET, or Quality Engineer.

• Proven history of architecting a testing practice from inception to maturity.

• Strong hands-on coding skills and ability to produce high-quality test code.

• Significant experience with Playwright or similar frameworks like Cypress or Selenium.

• Extensive experience in API and contract testing.

• Proficient in mocking, stubbing, and employing record/replay techniques effectively.

• Proven experience in designing and executing performance and load testing programs.

• Familiarity with tools such as k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.

• Practical experience in incorporating AI into testing workflows.

• Proficient with modern AI coding tools.

• Strong background in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Ability to quickly learn the specific technology stack.

• Knowledge of ArgoCD, Kubernetes, and containerized testing environments is a plus.

• Working knowledge of .NET and Next.js sufficient to understand and analyze tested code.

• Clear perspective and experience in WCAG accessibility and usability testing.
