Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage user-friendly web applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, and data-access components.

• Direct architectural decisions to ensure the long-term coherence, security, reliability, observability, and maintainability of squad solutions.

• Accept user stories and story-point estimates, facilitate decisions for delivery, eliminate obstacles, and coordinate dependencies with other squads and technical teams.

• Guarantee that delivered work satisfies acceptance criteria, engineering standards, and the agreed-upon Definition of Done.

• Establish clear API and service contracts, versioning, integration tests, and ownership of dependencies across domain boundaries.

• Conduct code and design reviews, enhance automated testing, and advocate for secure development and practical documentation.

• Collaborate with DevSecOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, monitoring, secrets management, identity, and operational readiness.

• Contribute to squad OKRs and quarterly assessments focusing on product value, delivery health, and quality.

• Utilize governed AI-assisted software engineering practices to enhance development speed, code quality, and delivery consistency.

• Work in close collaboration with an assigned Business Analyst, developers, Quality Assurance, DevSecOps, and business stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership for products or delivery teams.

• Strong full-stack expertise, with significant depth in modern frontend development and backend service or API development.

• Hands-on experience in designing and operating cloud-based, distributed applications.

• Comprehensive understanding of architecture, domain boundaries, API design, data integrity, security, and observability.

• Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing along with CI/CD delivery practices.

• Background in working within Agile product teams and translating business requirements into actionable technical solutions.

• Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs, communicate decisions effectively, and lead through influence.

• Professional fluency in English and confidence in collaborating with colleagues distributed internationally.

• Preferred: experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native deployment methodologies.

• Preferred: experience with TypeScript, VueJS, Node.js, .NET, SQL, REST and/or GraphQL, or similar modern technologies.

• Preferred: familiarity with infrastructure as code, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, containers, and application monitoring.

• Preferred: knowledge of B2B SaaS, sustainability, supply chains, chemical data, assessment, or compliance platforms.

• Preferred: experience utilizing governed AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity and quality.
