Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage accessible web applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, and data-access components.

• Guide architectural decisions to maintain the long-term coherence, security, reliability, observability, and maintainability of squad solutions.

• Accept user stories and story-point estimates, facilitate delivery decisions, eliminate obstacles, and coordinate dependencies.

• Ensure that the delivered work fulfills acceptance criteria, adheres to engineering standards, and meets the agreed Definition of Done.

• Establish API and service contracts, manage versioning, conduct integration tests, and assume ownership of dependencies across domain boundaries.

• Lead code and design reviews, enhance automated testing processes, and advocate for secure development and practical documentation.

• Collaborate with DevSecOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, monitoring, secrets, identity, and operational readiness.

• Contribute to squad OKRs and quarterly reviews that assess product value, delivery health, and overall quality.

• Utilize governed AI-assisted software engineering practices to boost development speed, code quality, and consistency in delivery.

• Work closely with Business Analysts, developers, Quality Assurance, DevSecOps, and business stakeholders within stream-aligned product squads.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership of products or delivery teams.

• Strong full-stack capabilities with in-depth knowledge of modern frontend development and backend service or API development.

• Practical experience in designing and managing cloud-based, distributed applications.

• A robust understanding of architecture, domain boundaries, API design, data integrity, security, and observability.

• Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, as well as CI/CD delivery practices.

• Proven experience collaborating in Agile product teams and translating business needs into actionable technical solutions.

• Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs, communicate decisions effectively, and lead through influence.

• Professional proficiency in English and confidence in working with colleagues distributed across different regions.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native deployment patterns.

• Preferred: Experience with TypeScript, VueJS, Node.js, .NET, SQL, REST and/or GraphQL, or similar modern technologies.

• Preferred: Experience with infrastructure as code, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, containers, and application monitoring.

• Preferred: Knowledge of B2B SaaS, sustainability, supply chains, chemical data, assessment, or compliance platforms.

• Preferred: Experience utilizing governed AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity and quality.
