Lead Software Engineer, Android - Shopping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create Android client code solutions that align with product strategy and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers, UX/UI designers, Quality Engineers, and Product Owners/Analysts to provide exceptional customer experiences.

• Engage in agile ceremonies and assist in ensuring team commitments are met on time and with high quality.

• Champion the mobile platform within both internal and external developer communities.

• Stay updated on mobile development technologies, such as Kotlin, Swift, and various third-party libraries.

• Contribute to team discussions and incorporate feedback from across the broader team.

• Mentor junior to mid-level team members.

• Work alongside developers across Android, iOS, APIs, Web, and other disciplines.

• Lead the delivery of significant components and platform requirements in collaboration with senior engineers and Architects.

• Share best practices and enhance processes across sprint teams.

• Identify technical challenges and devise innovative solutions.

• Review pull requests to ensure compliance with Kotlin and other language idioms.

• Provide expert-level leadership in the subject matter.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.

• Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience; internship experience is not applicable.

• At least 3 years of experience in building Android applications.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with Kotlin.

• Preferred: Master's Degree.

• Preferred: 5+ years of experience in building Android applications.

• Preferred: 4+ years of experience with Kotlin.

• Preferred: 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.

• Preferred: 2+ years of experience with Agile practices.

• Preferred: Experience with interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
