This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborative software development of automotive computer solutions during the initial development stages, working alongside system engineers and software specialists from technology partners.
• Conducting analysis and profiling of the Android framework, system applications, or system services.
• Detecting architectural and technical challenges at the AOSP framework level.
• Enhancing the stability of the Android framework and optimizing critical operational states.
• Contributing to Android-related frameworks and proprietary company frameworks through interface evaluations.
• Technical coordination with suppliers and development partners.
• Applying state-of-the-art methodologies to create top-tier infotainment systems.
• Developing technical specifications and documentation.
• Managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables independently.
• Monitoring assigned system issues, including conducting ticket reviews.
• Reporting status updates to project stakeholders, both domestically and internationally.
• Guiding junior software developers in best practices and design patterns.
• Managing cross-team resources and aligning project objectives.
• 7-10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of the Android Framework, AOSP platform architecture, and associated build systems.
• Experience with the Android Architecture, particularly in Linux Kernel, Hardware Abstraction Layer, Treble, etc.
• Over 3 years of experience in modifying Android framework components, system services, and the Android SDK.
• More than 5 years of experience with object-oriented design.
• Proficient in C++, Java, or Kotlin.
• Strong experience with software life-cycle methodologies.
• Familiarity with Android Automotive OS.
• Knowledge of CDD and related testing suites, such as the Compatibility Test Suite.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., SAFe, Confluence, Jira, etc.).
• Leadership experience within small software teams in the automotive sector.
• Expertise in tooling to enhance the performance of Linux/Android applications.
• Practical knowledge of various types of hypervisors in automotive settings.
