This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Ensuring timely payroll processing, including modifications such as adding or removing employees and deductions, managing the T4 process, and submitting ROE forms, among other payroll responsibilities.
• Addressing complex client inquiries related to payroll, offering recommendations, problem-solving, and data analysis while upholding compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Managing end-to-end payroll for various clients with different pay frequencies, including EHT and WCB filings across multiple provinces.
• Reviewing CRA accounts and responding to any notices received.
• Communicating with clients and the bookkeeping team to guarantee timely service and a seamless experience.
• Promoting process enhancements and aiding in the development of departmental best practices.
• Serving as a technical resource for the team, facilitating knowledge sharing and addressing complex payroll queries.
• PCP certification is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced setting within a large organization or organizations with multi-jurisdictional payroll experience.
• Proficiency in managing complex payroll situations and escalations, including advanced data analysis, reporting, and executing continuous improvement initiatives.
• In-depth understanding of the Canadian payroll system, including but not limited to withholding taxes, source deductions, other deductions, benefits, ROE forms, T4 slips, and more.
• Experience in processing payroll across multiple provinces (experience in QC is a plus).
