This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• The Lead for Initiative 5 of the ROOTS Hub reports directly to the Manager of ROOTS Hub Initiatives.
• This role is accountable for facilitating the execution and operational oversight of Initiative 5 within the defined region 3 of NCDHHS, which encompasses several counties.
• The focus is on enhancing value-based payment readiness, ensuring healthcare sustainability, and promoting innovative financing models for rural primary care providers and health systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, payers, finance teams, implementation partners, and community stakeholders to foster operational transformation, readiness for value-based care, fiscal sustainability, and improvements in data-informed healthcare delivery within rural areas.
• Act as a strategic implementation partner to the ROOTS Hub Initiatives Manager, assisting with operational planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting, governance activities, community involvement, and monitoring of implementation concerning the objectives and deliverables of Initiative 5.
• Work in coordination with the lead anchors in region 3 and tribal representatives when relevant, customizing NCRHTP initiatives and activities to address the rural health needs of region 3 and meet the performance objectives of the NCRHTP.
• A Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or a related field is required.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least two (2) years of experience managing large and complex projects.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in coordinating with various types of stakeholders.
• At least two (2) years of experience in an organization or field that reflects an understanding of healthcare systems, Medicaid and/or Medicare payer systems, clinical and social needs affecting communities’ and/or populations’ access to health services.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience serving or working on behalf of Medicaid and/or Medicare beneficiaries is preferred.
• Experience in population health, as well as with physical health, behavioral health, I/DD, and TBI populations, is preferred.
• Certifications in project management methodologies are preferred.
• Certification in quality and process improvement is preferred.
• Knowledge of value-based care, healthcare financing, rural healthcare systems, and principles of population health.
• Strong project management and operational planning capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across healthcare systems and stakeholder groups.
• Excellent analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Capability to interpret operational and performance data.
• Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and healthcare reimbursement structures is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• This position is exempt and does not qualify for overtime compensation.
