This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Calibrate, install, maintain, and repair protective relays along with related equipment.
• Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair intricate control systems, protective relay systems, substation and electric utility protection systems, SCADA systems, and station automation equipment.
• Analyze project-level scopes of work to plan commissioning and resource scheduling.
• Offer leadership to the team to ensure testing activities are completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule without service interruptions.
• Interpret substation diagrams, which include single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, panel wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings.
• Draft procedures and test plans that support maintenance and construction efforts.
• Create isolation plans and functional guidelines.
• Test relay voltage and current inputs, local and SCADA metering, relays, trips, alarms, and function switches.
• Diagnose and repair substation relaying and control equipment.
• Commission substations, power equipment, relaying, pilot channel equipment, controls, and communication devices.
• Provide technical support for projects to Field Service personnel.
• Mentor junior field service staff.
• Act as a subject matter expert in protective relaying.
• Lead small project teams from a technical perspective.
• A minimum of 5 years of field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing, and repairing substation relaying and control schemes.
• Experience in substation design, construction, commissioning, or SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing is desirable.
• Comprehensive understanding of three-phase power systems and power system protection and control schemes.
• Familiarity with test equipment and testing software.
• Proficient in the use of test equipment, tools, and wiring.
• Ability to interpret wiring and elementary diagrams accurately.
• Basic testing skills to carry out the duties listed.
• Fundamental PC skills.
• Quick learner who can implement test procedures for various substation equipment.
• Effective communication skills with diverse groups, adapting communication to suit the audience and context.
• Capability to learn and implement client switching procedures and safety protocols.
• Ability to reference and fulfill assignments as described in applicable specifications.
• Willingness to perform regular fieldwork both indoors and outdoors.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, business acumen, and management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Competent in effective communication in English, including reading and writing.
