Lead Reinsurance Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage reinsurance agreements by preparing and compiling settlements and reports.

• Identify and spearhead the implementation of enhancements within workstream processes.

• Analyze existing reinsurance processes to identify and create automation opportunities.

• Ensure the integrity of the reinsurance administration system and its data.

• Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of reinsurance settlement reports received from reinsurers in accordance with agreements.

• Contribute to financial close cycles, which include recording journal entries, processing wire transfers, analyzing operating statements, and providing flux analysis.

• Perform ad-hoc tasks, projects, and analyses as requested with limited supervision.

• Handle various responsibilities related to reinsurance and reporting while collaborating with different business partners.

• Communicate and maintain relationships with reinsurers and third-party administrators to ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of received reports.

• Provide clear and concise summaries of analyses tailored to meet the needs of diverse clients.

• Engage in internal and external audit testing.

• Ensure compliance of reinsurance processes and reporting activities with audit standards, implementing necessary controls and maintaining efficient processes.

• Share technical knowledge and mentor junior team members.

• Assist other team members by reviewing offshore work.

• Capable of managing multiple, often competing priorities under tight deadlines.

• Proficient in working with large and complex Excel files, translating data into meaningful analyses.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA designation preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of reinsurance finance experience, particularly with a focus on life insurance.

• Experience with administrative systems, ledger data, and familiarity with operating statements.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reinsurance operations, and financial reporting.

• Working knowledge of AI tools utilized for financial analysis, reporting, and productivity (e.g., Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-driven platforms).
