This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Lead the Performance & Development of the PM Team: Recruit, train, and oversee a team of Project Managers and Senior PMs. Conduct regular performance evaluations with established expectations and KPIs. Swiftly identify high and low performers, mentor talent, and take necessary actions. Foster a robust, accountable PM team where ownership is the norm.
• Manage Delivery Execution & Accountability: Guarantee that every account has a designated PM with clearly defined timelines and responsibilities. Hold PMs responsible for timely delivery, proactive communication, and prompt escalation. Intervene when delivery is jeopardized and ensure PMs take ownership of results, rather than merely coordinating tasks.
• Develop & Enhance PM Systems: Design and refine PM systems utilizing ClickUp, Notion, and Airtable (including workflows, KPI dashboards, and tracking). Ensure that systems promote accountability and clarity across tasks, timelines, and responsibilities—not just serve as documentation.
• Oversee Resource Planning & Team Capacity: Manage the capacity of the PM team across all accounts. Ensure appropriate allocation of time, talent, and seniority. Anticipate hiring requirements based on pipeline growth and workload demands.
• Facilitate Escalation Identification & Coordination: Ensure that delivery risks are identified early and consistently. Maintain clear visibility on accounts at risk, ongoing issues, and breakdown patterns. Ensure that escalations are thoroughly documented, contextualized, and effectively directed to the Head of Client Services.
• Create PM Training & Standards: Develop onboarding and training programs for PMs. Define the characteristics of what constitutes "being a great PM" at inBeat. Enhance the team's ability to manage projects, communicate effectively, and achieve results.
• Promote Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Head of Client Services (for escalations and feedback loops), Account Management (for handoffs and expectations), Influencer Marketing, Creative Strategy, Paid Media, and Ops teams to ensure seamless execution and eliminate gaps in ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Experience managing a PM team of 8 or more individuals
• Background in marketing, advertising, or creative agencies
• Proven success in building PM systems and enhancing team performance
• Familiarity with ClickUp, Notion, or comparable project management tools
• Located in LATAM or South Africa (for time zone alignment)
