This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with the Technical Director to create a cohesive technology vision for the project.
• Draft and review technical design documentation.
• Generate high-quality, efficient, clean, and modular code.
• Gather and document user requirements and develop logical specifications.
• Investigate, assess, and consolidate technical information to design, develop, and test computer-based systems.
• Create data, process, and network models to enhance architecture and evaluate performance and reliability.
• Plan, design, and oversee the development, integration, and operation of computer-based systems.
• Evaluate, test, troubleshoot, document, upgrade, and establish maintenance procedures for application software.
• Lead and coordinate teams in the development of software and integrated information systems, process control software, and embedded software control systems.
• Identify unplanned tasks and issues, including code refactoring and bug fixing.
• Offer mentorship and training for programmers.
• Provide and solicit feedback on code quality, encompassing performance, readability, testability, and design.
• Assess project-wide implications of design and implementation choices.
• Collaborate with Production on project milestone objectives, timelines, and risk management.
• Oversee hiring, supervision, and management of team members.
• Over 5 years of programming experience in the gaming industry or a related field.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A passion for playing and creating innovative games; you identify as a gamer.
• Successfully shipped at least one game as a senior or lead programmer.
• A strong self-motivator and capable of working independently.
• Expert-level knowledge of C++, the Standard Library, and Object-Oriented Design.
• Solid understanding of general and 3D mathematics, statistics, and probability.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to creatively address challenging issues.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• A positive demeanor with a commitment to collaborating in a team environment towards shared goals.
• Remarkable competency in estimating workload and delivering on tasks within the estimated time frame.
• Involved in planning product releases alongside production or project management.
• Mentored multiple programmers in coding skills and career advancement.
• Familiarity with C#, Java, Lua, HLSL/Cg shaders, iOS, Android, Test Driven Development, Visual Studio, Perforce, unit testing, TDD for server development, C# server environments, AWS, Azure, GCP, managing a live server environment, and operational support is preferred.
• Applicants must currently reside in British Columbia, preferably in the greater Vancouver area.
