This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership of the product strategy and roadmap concerning the performance of APFM's owned properties within the traditional, AI-mediated, voice, and agentic search domains.
• Convert SEO signals, algorithm changes, and discovery modifications into product decisions and prioritize the roadmap; collaborate with specialist practitioners responsible for daily execution.
• Define and enhance A Place for Mom’s presence across the entire AI-mediated discovery spectrum, which includes AI search citations, conversational query coverage, structured data for AI grounding, MCP integrations, voice interfaces, and agentic endpoints.
• Observe and interpret shifts in AI platform behavior, changes in the search landscape, and evolving distribution surfaces, translating these insights into internal product guidance, guardrails, and prioritization.
• Advance the current AI discovery measurement framework and tools as the ecosystem evolves and new channels emerge that necessitate innovative measurement strategies.
• Integrate acquisition loops into the product surface: sharing features, comparison tools, decision aids, and community-driven content platforms.
• Collaborate with Product peers to incorporate PLG mechanics into core flows, enhancing organic acquisition without incurring paid expenditures.
• Establish metrics, baselines, and targets for organic and AI discovery; identify opportunities, formulate hypotheses, and lead learning agendas.
• Transform ambiguous, evolving discovery signals into actionable product investments and clear recommendations.
• Infuse authority, expertise, and trust signals into product surfaces and content systems.
• Ensure that the signals used by AI systems to assess credibility—including review integrity, content quality, and decision support depth—are accurately represented in our developments.
• Cultivate and maintain a perspective on AI disintermediation risks, ensuring it is accounted for in the product roadmap.
• 7–10+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, product strategy, or related fields.
• Proven depth in SEO fundamentals with a track record of delivering product surfaces that positively impacted organic acquisition outcomes, going beyond mere advisory roles.
• A well-informed perspective on the evolution of the search landscape: understanding how AI-mediated discovery functions, how to instrument and influence it, and its future trajectory.
• Comfort in navigating ambiguous, evolving data sets and the capacity to devise measurement strategies where none currently exist.
• Strong viewpoints on trust-sensitive, YMYL content and product systems.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate clear requirements, conduct experiments, collaborate closely with engineering teams, and oversee delivery from start to finish.
• Experience in fostering alignment among senior stakeholders in complex, cross-domain problem scenarios.
• Experience in managing or mentoring other practitioners, with a history of enhancing the product intuition and execution quality of your team.
• Bonus: experience in marketplace or aggregator environments, regulated or health-adjacent fields, prior GEO work, or MCP and agentic distribution experience.
