This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full responsibility for the product design of Consumer workstreams, overseeing everything from discovery and journey mapping to prototypes and production-ready designs, including a cohesive family experience across APFM.com, AgingCare, Care Hub, advisor-connected workflows, and innovative AI-enabled channels.
• Convert emotionally complex and information-dense senior care decisions into user-friendly workflows that empower families to proceed with assurance.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, Analytics, Operations, Sales, and business leaders to establish problem framing, success criteria, trade-offs, and release scope.
• Design with an emphasis on trust, clarity, accessibility, speed, and usability at critical moments when families require precise information and confident next steps.
• Utilize research, analytics, conversations with care seekers, marketing insights, funnel data, input from frontline teams, product data, and business context to inform design choices.
• Identify high-impact opportunities where enhanced consumer experiences can lead to improved outcomes for families, providers, and business performance.
• Clearly articulate design rationale to product teams, engineering collaborators, marketing partners, operational stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Assist teams in understanding not only what should be delivered but also why it is significant.
• Implement and expand upon shared APFM patterns to ensure that consumer product surfaces feel consistent across various channels and touchpoints.
• Guide and elevate the standards for other designers through critique, pattern quality, and compelling product storytelling, without the need for direct people management responsibilities.
• Share insights and learnings with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, Analytics, Operations, Sales, and design partners to foster collective growth within the team.
• Over 7 years of product design experience with intricate consumer web, marketplace, healthcare, search, lead-generation, ecommerce, SaaS, CRM, internal tools, or operations-focused products.
• A robust portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership from ambiguous problem framing to delivered product, including work that has influenced product strategy or enhanced quality across multiple workstreams.
• Exceptional skills in interaction design, systems thinking, information architecture, UX writing judgment, and product judgment.
• Proven curiosity and practical experimentation with AI tools in the design or product development process.
• Capability to articulate not just what you designed, but also how you utilized evidence, tools, prototypes, constraints, and judgment to make informed decisions.
• Experience thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where ownership, pragmatism, and cross-functional trust are paramount.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and the ability to convey design intent through flows, prototypes, specifications, and clear design narratives.
• Comfort in forming deep partnerships with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Marketing, Analytics, operational stakeholders, Sales, and senior leaders to unify teams around a coherent design vision.
