• Establish and maintain exceptional standards for character art quality throughout the project.
• Collaborate with art leadership to define and uphold the visual direction for characters.
• Lead the enhancement of character pipelines, workflows, and best practices.
• Provide support and mentorship to character artists of varying experience levels.
• Work collaboratively across disciplines to ensure character art aligns with creative, narrative, and gameplay objectives.
• Evaluate character assets and offer constructive feedback to maintain consistency and quality.
• Partner with production to plan tasks, estimate effort, and achieve milestones.
• Ensure characters fulfill technical, performance, and platform specifications.
• Assist with outsourcing initiatives as necessary, including feedback and quality assessments.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an art role within the gaming industry.
• A portfolio (link or file) demonstrating relevant character art work.
• Experience in contributing to or leading character art direction and delivery.
• Proficiency in character modeling, texturing, and material creation.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in collaborating across disciplines.
• Experience working with outsourcing partners or external contributors.
• Ability to facilitate efficient, scalable workflows.
• Passion for mentoring, supporting others, and aiding in team development.
• Experience working across multiple platforms or hardware targets.
• Familiarity with various character art styles or genres.
• Experience in supporting hiring, onboarding, or knowledge-sharing initiatives.
