This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Serve as a genuine subject matter expert for the country.
• Maintain and nurture existing relationships with key stakeholders in Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
• Execute the complete payroll process in-house, including statutory filing requirements, exceptions, approvals, payments, and compliance.
• Ensure comprehensive data integrity and quality.
• Handle accounting and reconciliations.
• Concentrate on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Implement and enhance processes.
• Mentor and provide support to payroll specialists.
• Act as a backup for regional managers during their absence.
• Experience in payroll management or a related field.
• Familiarity with payroll best practices.
• Proficient in utilizing software tools such as SAP and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Possess an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making a difference.
• A productivity enthusiast who continually seeks ways to enhance efficiency and expedite tasks.
• Understands the importance and ideal of working predominantly asynchronously.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• While remote work experience is not mandatory, it is considered advantageous.
