
Lead On Site Services Specialist – Turbine Controls

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Install and set up Software & Controls Solutions hardware and software across a diverse range of machinery found in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Fertilizers, and other processing industries.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with existing Software & Controls Solutions hardware and software installations on-site.
• Coordinate field service tasks and interventions in collaboration with project managers.
• Participate in pre-outage meetings with clients.
• Offer on-site technical support to customers as required.
• Provide training to customer staff as necessary.
• Oversee mechanical and electrical subcontractors, including the de-installation and reinstallation of instrumentation.
• Supervise cable installation, megger testing, and connections.
• Lead and conduct loop checks and commissioning phases, executing functional tests.
• Assist ITO during the quotation stage.
• Drive continuous improvements by providing feedback to other functions and Quality (LL/BP).
• Identify and create change order opportunities during site execution.
• Support Services Managers and Project Managers in job preparation and scheduling.
• Lead and perform unit start-up and performance tests, ensuring safe and proper machine operation by evaluating running parameters and troubleshooting control system issues as they occur.
• Maintain precise timesheets and obtain customer signatures on them before departing the job site.
• Compile accurate and detailed reports following the completion of each task.
• Keep current knowledge of all Software & Controls Solutions hardware and software.
• Evaluate and monitor site safety throughout job execution.
• Conduct both internal and external training sessions.
• Communicate professionally with clients and other team members.
• Understand and adhere to T&C (Terms and Conditions) commitments.
• Promptly and accurately enter hours, expenses, and timesheets into internal systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, IT Engineering, or completion of a Technical High School program.
• More than 5 years of relevant work experience in field activities within the Oil & Gas and Power Plant industries.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both business and technical personnel.
• Proficient in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting with a practical, "hands-on" approach.
• Experience with Woodward Control Systems and Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (e.g., LM2500, LM6000) is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of control philosophies for rotating equipment (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors) and their auxiliaries.
• Comprehensive knowledge of field devices, instruments, and actuators (such as servo-valves, thermal elements, transmitters, etc.).
• Familiarity with PLC & HMI installations.
• Knowledge of Switch configuration, Virtual Machine Navigation, and Domain Controllers is considered a significant advantage.
• Ability to utilize specialized tools including pressure pumps, multi-meters, frequency generators, oscilloscopes, and field generators.
• Capability to interpret and implement technical drawings (wiring diagrams, P&ID, General Arrangement, etc.).
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and to work overtime.
• Understanding of machinery protection and management systems.
• Proficiency in English.
• Valid driver's license and passport (or the ability to obtain a passport).
• Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office software.
