
Lead Mechanical Engineer – Fleet Reliability and Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform site visits to evaluate the condition of existing turbines or generators.
• Oversee signature tests prior to the disassembly of units.
• Offer daily phone support to site teams and proactively identify potential issues.
• Suggest additional work following dismantling and examination.
• Review and authorize site record documentation.
• Address non-conformities and general concerns.
• Visit sites during critical phases of projects.
• Assist with commissioning and testing activities.
• Troubleshoot reliability issues throughout the warranty period.
• Provide experiential feedback to the design team.
• Serve as the primary site liaison for operation and maintenance agreements.
• Prepare service designs along with associated documentation.
• Support customer service, condition evaluations, spare parts, part refurbishment, and partial unit refurbishment projects.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the hydroelectric sector.
• Willingness and capability to travel across North America and internationally.
• Ability to work remotely within a team and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening, which includes reference checks and background verification.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the USA.
• Familiarity with hydro turbine and generator design and installation techniques.
• Understanding of calculation methods related to material strength.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis.
• Insight into metallurgy and welding processes.
• Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if necessary.
• PE license is preferred.
