• Deliver essential field support at customer sites during major and minor outages of turbines and generators.
• Key responsibilities include the implementation of GEV Life Saving Rules, Risk Reduction initiatives, and hazard control measures.
• Assist in the planning and execution of outage EHS Safety Plans, Job Safety Analyses, Task Risk Assessments, Work Authorizations, permits, the application of Life Saving Rules, and management of contractor safety.
• Perform observations, inspections, hazard assessments, site evaluations, and audits.
• Support site leadership in coordinating emergency drills and developing rescue plans.
• Establish and sustain effective relationships and collaboration with field supervisors, maintenance teams, Generator specialists, and customer representatives.
• Provide the Regional EHS Manager with timely analysis of metrics and suggest improvements to safety policies and programs.
• Ensure accurate information is uploaded into the enterprise Gensuite system.
• Manage OSHA/OHS incident and injury reporting per established guidelines.
• Conduct prompt and precise follow-up investigations.
• Analyze root causes to identify and implement necessary safety measures.
• Deliver in-field training, support, and coaching for new and existing EHS programs and procedures.
• Utilize analytical tools and AI, leveraging extensive technical experience and sound judgment to interpret field data and inform future efforts and focus.
• Engage with the EHS team across Steam Power Services, contributing input and feedback on EHS program modifications and enhancements.
• Certificate or degree from an accredited university or college in an EHS/Safety discipline AND 5+ years of experience in an EHS-related role within industrial settings or power generation OR a High School Diploma/GED AND 7+ years of experience in an EHS-related position in industrial settings or power generation.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record supporting field operations at major industrial facilities.
• Excellent oral, written, communication, and collaboration skills across different organizational levels.
• Proficient in time management, scheduling, and prioritization.
• Capability to execute tasks in alignment with established policies, standards, and strategic objectives.
• Proven ability to utilize EHS processes and tools for analyzing and resolving EHS issues.
• Physical capability and experience in maintaining safety standards on-site at large industrial facilities such as refineries, paper mills, and power plants.
• Comfortable using various IT tools, with a willingness to learn new platforms, including AI technologies.
• A valid driver's license in good standing with a safe driving record is required, as a fleet vehicle may be assigned based on location.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory.
