
Lead Low Voltage Technician – 90% Travel Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Facilitate weekly toolbox safety discussions.

• Interpret blueprints, wiring schemes, scopes of work, and construction plans accurately.
• Execute layout designs for low-voltage systems based on project specifications.
• Install, terminate, test, and certify structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
• Set up and terminate low-voltage cabling for access control systems.
• Install speaker cabling and telecommunications infrastructure such as routers, switches, and network devices.
• Install network racks, cabinets, patch panels, cable management systems, raceways, conduits, sleeves, J-hooks, cable trays, and work area outlets.
• Construct, organize, and label MDF and IDF rooms effectively.
• Install access panels in pre-existing buildings.
• Conduct fiber optic fusion splicing and testing.
• Accurately label all cables, ports, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges while minimizing project delays.
• Generate precise as-built documentation and closeout packages.
• Lead installation teams on designated projects.
• Coordinate tasks with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Act as the main on-site contact for customers during installation activities and field coordination.
• Perform site assessments and analyze existing conditions to formulate installation strategies.
• Oversee project milestones and provide real-time updates on progress.
• Ensure installations align with project specifications, quality benchmarks, and timelines.
• Complete daily reports, quality inspections, material inventories, and invoicing documentation accurately and punctually.
• Secure customer acceptance upon project conclusion.
• Engage in meetings, respond to RFIs, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Encourage continuous improvement through project evaluations and lessons learned.
• At least 10 years of practical low-voltage cabling experience.
• Minimum of 5 years leading commercial telecommunications or structured cabling installation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of structured cabling standards and industry best practices.
• Experience in installing commercial structured cabling systems.
• Capability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and scopes of work.
• Experience in constructing and organizing MDFs and IDFs.
• Proficient in terminating patch panels, keystone jacks, RJ45 connectors, and fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with professional cable and fiber testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organization, documentation, and labeling abilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead teams efficiently.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
