Lead iOS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee the mobile application lifecycle from conception to delivery, encompassing architecture, performance, release processes, and strategic planning.

• Guide and support the two current mobile engineers through mentorship.

• Establish the technical vision and enhance the standards of mobile engineering practices.

• Collaborate with the engineering manager on the overarching engineering strategy.

• Work alongside the founder on product strategy focusing on growth, user onboarding, and retention initiatives.

• Ensure fluid animations, responsive user interactions, and adherence to platform-specific guidelines.

• Develop, instrument, assess, and refine features in a Product-Led Growth (PLG) and A/B testing framework.

• Manage the App Store presence and release schedule, including version control, store optimization, and monitoring for crashes and performance issues.

• Possibly assist in expanding a dedicated mobile development team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in native iOS app development.

• Significant experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Expertise in Swift programming language.

• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying consumer-grade iOS applications.

• Familiarity with SwiftUI and UIKit frameworks.

• Knowledge of iOS frameworks and tools such as Combine and push notifications.

• Experience in deploying applications to the App Store.

• Proficient with Xcode, XCTest, TestFlight, and App Store Connect.

• Understanding of common iOS architecture and state management patterns.

• Competence in debugging, optimizing performance, and monitoring for crashes.

• Experience with Objective-C is a plus.

• Android development experience using Kotlin is an added advantage.
