Lead Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform pre-employment investigations for candidates in law enforcement and government roles.

• Investigate and evaluate applications, employment histories, criminal records, and public documents to confirm candidate qualifications.

• Conduct thorough interviews via phone or virtual platforms to gather valuable insights.

• Carry out criminal background checks and verify civil lawsuits using public records.

• Detect gaps or discrepancies and determine the most effective methods to acquire accurate information.

• Compile detailed investigative reports with a focus on accuracy and clarity.

• Ensure professional and timely communication with clients and agency stakeholders.

• Systematically organize information and manage caseloads effectively to adhere to deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Pre-Law, Paralegal, or a related discipline.

• At least five years of investigative or related experience, encompassing journalism, investigative reporting, or criminal investigations.

• Strong interviewing abilities for both remote and face-to-face interviews.

• Excellent analytical and writing skills, with the capacity to interpret findings and produce clear reports.

• Demonstrated capability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

• Proficient in Google Docs, Excel, and investigative tools or software.

• Must be able to pass a Security Clearance to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or already hold one.

• Capacity to complete a minimum of five cases weekly.
