This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Foster Ryder's culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the organization.

• Implement continuous improvement strategies in both new and existing operations.

• Identify, spearhead, and drive operational changes through data-driven continuous improvement, engineering, and automation initiatives.

• Utilize data analytics, engineering techniques, and Ryder lean tools to pinpoint and eliminate root causes.

• Gather data and carry out statistical analyses.

• Chart and document processes.

• Detect process deficiencies and propose as well as implement improvements.

• Create and execute continuous improvement and transformation strategies.

• Enhance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.

• Oversee and finalize high-impact continuous improvement projects.

• Evaluate continuous improvement initiatives and suggest future endeavors.

• Assist with start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs, go-live activities, and steady-state certifications.

• Identify and facilitate automation projects.

• Collaborate with account management and clients.

• Mentor employees in continuous improvement, quality assurance, and lean methodologies.

• Employ engineering techniques such as product slotting, labor standards studies, layouts, flow optimization, data profiling, analysis, and resource modeling.

• Potentially oversee continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals.

• Engage in employment decisions and manage performance with managerial guidance.

• Conduct and implement Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events from planning through delivery, follow-up, and sustainment.

• Guide process owners on lean methodologies and operational excellence.

• Generate regular reports measuring progress against site objectives.

• Make recommendations for inventory and/or supply chain strategies.

• Design, implement, monitor, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).

• Establish and oversee a standardized corrective action system.

• Assist with compliance to regulatory and certification requirements.

• Execute quality assurance tasks for start-ups or expansions.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain, with a minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with five (5) years of relevant experience; if possessing an MBA, the undergraduate degree must be in Engineering.

• Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in warehousing, transportation, and/or manufacturing is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

• Intermediate skills in data visualization and database programming, including Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and DAX.

• Intermediate knowledge of Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization.

• Advanced comprehension and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, and metrics.

• Advanced expertise with warehouse design tools such as CAD/AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST, Manhattan Scale, and labor management systems.

• In-depth knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, various warehouse types, warehouse layout/design, lean techniques, material handling solutions, and automation.

• Familiarity with powered industrial truck applications, racking and storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor and sortation systems, and automation solutions such as AS/RS.

• Understanding of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks.

• Knowledge of equipment types including dry van, temperature control, flatbed, and specialized equipment.

• Proficient in transportation, network design, transportation management, and mapping tools such as JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, and Tableau.

• Lean Six Sigma certification is required.

• cPMP certification is preferred.

• ISO/QMS certification is preferred.

• APICS and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Ability to build professional relationships across different organizational levels.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Adaptability and self-motivation in a dynamic environment.

• Proven multitasking, organizational, and time-management abilities.

• Skills in team management, system implementation, and change management.

• Ability to lead cross-functional and complex continuous improvement projects from initiation to sustained results.
