This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Ensure long-term reliability of generators throughout the entire Inquiry-to-Remittance (ITR) cycle.
• Provide technical assistance for outages, parts, repairs, and upgrades, including the development of solutions, technical proposals, and related documentation.
• Facilitate problem-solving sessions aimed at resolving generator issues and implementing corrective measures.
• Respond swiftly to Engineering Requests with precise, safe, and high-quality solutions.
• Serve as a technical authority for customers, service centers, and cross-functional teams, aiding in the planning and execution of generator outages and upgrades.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing generator performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain thorough engineering documentation, including detailed Test & Inspection Plans, recommendations for Outage Optimization, and Work Instructions.
• Plan and oversee all engineering tasks and activities during project execution phases.
• Provide engineering guidance to customers and repair service centers.
• Address NCR (Non-Conformance) issues and lead the development and execution of engineering solutions.
• Deliver projects with a strong sense of urgency.
• Lead and actively engage in Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
• Prepare comprehensive technical proposals and scope definitions for generator upgrades and repairs during the tendering phase.
• Support generator New Product Introduction (NPI) development initiatives.
• Provide strategic insights for the advancement and ongoing improvement of generator maintenance and repair protocols.
• Maintain precise and current records of generator units and their configurations.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics.
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in generator manufacturing, repair, and overhaul processes.
• Familiarity with stator and rotor rewinding activities and related measurement techniques.
• Knowledge of synchronous generator design, construction, and insulation technologies.
• Self-driven team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and coordination capabilities.
• Customer service-oriented mindset prioritizing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Experience with both legacy Alstom and GE generator technologies.
• Proficient in lean methodology and continuous improvement tools.
• Knowledge of measurement tools and equipment.
• Commercial awareness and business insight.
• Experience in on-site execution and workshop processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PLM systems (RPDM/VPDM).
