Lead Field Service Engineer – Drives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Carry out the installation and commissioning of drive and power systems at customer locations.

• Undertake troubleshooting tasks at site locations during scheduled port visits or at sea to identify issues, determine suitable solutions, and implement corrective measures.

• Conduct a variety of engineering tasks to guarantee the technical integrity and accurate installation and commissioning of our equipment.

• Create documentation to facilitate work, including commissioning and maintenance procedures, and provide training to customers.

• Perform on-site project management and act as a technical leader to address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction.

• Recognize sales prospects for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.

• Offer on-call assistance in response to customer service inquiries.

• Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the North American business.

• Support engineering teams involved in customer upgrade projects.

• Complete service reports and fulfill other administrative obligations in a timely manner.

• Conduct work on vessels while adhering to GE and customer safety protocols, whether in shipyards or offshore.

• Extended hours and overtime may be necessary during peak times and emergencies.

• Travel domestically or internationally to customer sites for prolonged durations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Associate's Degree or a related field from an accredited institution along with a minimum of 5 additional years of relevant industry experience.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant industry experience.

• US Person capable of obtaining security clearance for Department of Defense projects.

• Willingness and ability to travel 85% of the time on short notice.

• Must be physically fit to board offshore vessels.

• Must successfully complete a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and an offshore survival course, including activities in a swimming pool.
