This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a subject matter authority in wind turbine installation, encompassing mechanical and electrical installation techniques, technical problem-solving, and installation risk assessment programs.
• Offer technical leadership and guidance for new unit and Repower initiatives.
• Assist in installation activities throughout the entire fleet by supporting Installation Leads, Site Managers, and Project Managers.
• Provide support for ongoing projects during weekends and holidays as required.
• Supervise comprehensive generator rebuild operations in the field.
• Coordinate contractor teams, labor distribution, project logistics, equipment mobilization, and component transportation.
• Manage requests for contractors, heavy machinery, and external generator services.
• Compile parts lists and ensure that long-lead items are ordered 6–12 months ahead of schedule.
• Verify that project documentation is thorough and accurate, including asset tracking, GE ID tagging, rebuild logs, and electrical testing records in platforms like Box and iAuditor.
• Revise technical documentation and iAuditor workflows to standardize procedures.
• Ensure that workshop environments adhere to safety regulations.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness when necessary.
• Uphold consistent training practices for installation across field teams.
• Mentor and coach Installation Leads and installation technicians.
• Assist in updating technical training materials and programs.
• Share installation methods and best practices while fostering lessons learned.
• Aid in the deployment of digitally enabled technicians.
• Troubleshoot hub, pitch, and yaw systems during single blade installation processes.
• Assist in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of Single Blade Installation equipment.
• Promote lean practices, EHS adherence, safety, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with teams focused on new product installation, engineering, and tooling engineering.
• Develop and update technical installation documentation.
• Organize and lead Pre-Installation Meetings.
• Facilitate the submission and resolution of installation ServiceNow cases.
• Review unit bills of materials for complex configuration initiatives.
• Examine project installation document folders and assist in installation cost-reduction activities.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in new construction wind projects, specifically in installation and commissioning.
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Advanced understanding of wind turbine installation practices, including both mechanical and electrical scopes.
• Significant field experience supporting new unit and Repower installation projects.
• Capability to lead training sessions, mentor field leaders, and promote standardization across teams or projects.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, project management, quality, and field operations teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Dedication to safe work practices and operational excellence.
• Ability to climb wind turbines at heights ranging from 80 to 120 meters.
• Capability to perform single-person lifts of up to 45 lbs.
• Must maintain Qualified Electrical Worker status in accordance with GE Vernova safety standards.
• Troubleshooting activities must comply with business and EHS policies.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
