This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Oversee construction operations along pipeline rights-of-way, access routes, staging zones, and other authorized work areas.
• Ensure adherence to environmental permits, mitigation strategies, approved plans, and project-specific protocols.
• Conduct and document environmental inspections that include erosion and sediment controls, waterbody and wetland crossings, topsoil management, vegetation removal, waste disposal, spill prevention, and restoration efforts.
• Verify that work activities remain within sanctioned rights-of-way, environmental buffers, access paths, and specified boundaries.
• Organize erosion and sediment control strategies, best management practices, and necessary corrective measures.
• Detect, document, and report environmental nonconformities, spills, unauthorized releases, permit violations, and potential impacts.
• Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to rectify deficiencies and resolve environmental action items.
• Keep daily logs, inspection documentation, photographs, permit records, agency communications, training documents, and tracking registers.
• Assist in environmental orientation and awareness training initiatives.
• Engage in pre-job meetings, construction planning, environmental assessments, and coordination sessions.
• Provide daily and weekly updates on environmental performance, issues, trends, and requirements.
• Monitor applications for environmental permits, including those for air, water, and waste management.
• Remain knowledgeable about environmental regulations and industry best practices.
• Aid in the development and review of compliance strategies.
• Offer regulatory guidance and training to staff members.
• Provide technical assistance regarding environmental permitting and compliance issues.
• Advocate for the protection of individuals, the community, property, and the environment while facilitating safe and efficient construction activities.
• Field experience with environmental compliance processes.
• Over 10 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA.
• Knowledge of environmental impact assessment and risk assessment techniques.
• Capability to work autonomously and make prompt, effective decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional presentation skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Willingness to undertake long-term field assignments.
