This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• Design, specify, calculate settings, and coordinate protective relays along with relay control schemes.
• Conduct modeling, short-circuit, and overstressed-breaker analyses.
• Formulate protective relaying recommendations for proposed generation interconnections to clients’ electrical systems.
• Ensure that relay settings activities, initiatives, and processes align with company policies, objectives, and client design standards.
• Deliver technical solutions to key customers while addressing technical inquiries and concerns.
• Collaborate with Qualus teams and individuals to develop and execute technical solutions that support the objectives of the Engineering Department.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems; an MS degree in engineering may be accepted in place of the BS engineering degree.
• International engineering degrees will be taken into consideration.
• A minimum of 7+ years of experience in protection and control engineering as well as relay settings.
• Proficiency with ASPEN and/or CAPE software.
• Professional Engineering registration or intent to obtain registration.
• Professional Engineering registration in the relevant working state is advantageous.
• Strong analytical abilities and computer skills.
• Capability to identify necessary software for design projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse support personnel.
• Strong dedication to customer service and care.
• Highly motivated self-starter.
• Demonstrated multitasking capabilities.
• Exceptional document management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with CYME, reclosers, sectionalizing schemes, and fuse coordination is preferred.
