Lead Engineer – Civil Structural

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive conceptual design plans during the initial stages of new project development.

• Assist renewable energy developers and other clients with project timelines and cost assessments.

• Design mat and pier type foundations for substation structures utilizing software such as LPILE.

• Design substation structures, including equipment supports and overhead line towers.

• Develop models for steel structures intended for rigid bus and equipment supports.

• Implement relevant codes and client standards in general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevation views, grading and fence plans, foundation plans and details, rigid bus arrangements, structure details, and bills of material.

• Conduct company Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes.

• Build and sustain relationships with external business partners.

• Present information and address client inquiries.

• Lead or participate in client meetings and site visits to gather or provide design and engineering data.

• Mentor junior staff in technical expertise and project management abilities.

• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

• Over 6 years of experience in performing civil structural engineering calculations.

• Active Professional Engineering (PE) license.

• Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation is advantageous.

• Experience in transmission, distribution, and generating stations is beneficial.

• Strong analytical and computational skills.

• Capability to identify necessary software for completing required design tasks.
