This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Electrical Engineering Design Activities (50%)
• Carry out intermediate to advanced engineering tasks independently
• Execute intermediate to advanced electrical design assignments, which include the development of electrical distribution systems and topologies, as well as infrastructure and equipment layouts, along with the selection and sizing of equipment
• Employ AutoCAD and Revit software to generate drawings and visual aids
• Review and/or create specifications for electrical systems in books or sheets
• Formulate and/or evaluate sequences of operations
• Contribute to proposal development, encompassing project scope, schedule, and budget
• Manage the project design team efficiently and effectively, including resource forecasting and coordination
• Recognize potential changes in project scope and assist in devising strategies to mitigate impacts and control deviations from estimated costs and project timelines
• Act as the support contact for design clients, fostering effective, long-term client relationships
• May supervise interns and other engineering and technical personnel
• Direct Pre-Construction Activities (15%)
• Assess existing building conditions and generate technical reports based on findings
• Gather data and other information necessary for construction documentation
• Develop project design and construction documents
• Lead Construction Activities (25%)
• May lead or collaborate as part of the engineering team while closely interacting with the project management team
• Review shop drawings and submissions
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Review and finalize punch lists and project closeout documents
• Reporting (10%)
• Create project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders
• Update and maintain the shop drawing and RFI log
• Manage personal hours utilizing company tools
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• Professional Engineer (PE) in a related discipline PLUS a minimum of eight years of electrical engineering experience
• Familiarity with electrical systems in buildings, including single/three-phase power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding, and life safety systems
• Understanding of codes and specifications for electrical system design, including the National Electric Code, Life Safety, and Energy Conservation Codes
• Proficient in technical/design software, including short circuit coordination and arc flash studies, equipment sizing, underground feeder calculations, and lighting calculations
• Competent in producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and Revit
• Experienced in conducting code analysis, including equipment selection, wiring, etc., to comply with code requirements
• Capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
• Ability to analyze and prepare documentation, reports, and correspondence
• Effective communication skills, allowing direct interaction with clients and occasionally serving as the primary point of contact
• Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proficient in planning and delegating tasks to others
