Lead DevOps Engineer – Developer Productivity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, Docker-in-Docker (DinD), and Kubernetes.

• Create internal tools and frameworks to enhance developer productivity through Jenkins Shared Libraries (Groovy), SonarQube, and artifact repositories (Jfrog, Artifact Registry).

• Improve build performance, minimize build failure rates, and enhance reliability through automation and observability.

• Monitor and enhance key developer productivity metrics such as build time, build failure rate, and DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, mean time to recovery, change failure rate).

• Serve as a liaison between platform and engineering teams to alleviate challenges in build, test, and deployment workflows.

• Incorporate quality gates and vulnerability scanning into pipelines using SonarQube and Jfrog Xray (or equivalent).

• Oversee and upgrade developer productivity tools in Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Developer Productivity, DevOps, or Tooling Engineering roles.

• Profound knowledge of Jenkins pipelines (Groovy), GitHub Actions, or similar systems.

• Skilled in Groovy for Jenkins pipelines; familiarity with Node.js is advantageous.

• Extensive experience with Docker, Docker-in-Docker (DinD), and Kubernetes.

• Proven track record of tracking and reporting on developer productivity metrics such as build time, failure rates, and DORA metrics.

• Hands-on experience with SonarQube, Jfrog Artifactory/Artifact Registry, and their integration into CI/CD workflows.

• Proficient in scripting for automation (Bash, Python preferred).

• Excellent communication skills; capable of collaborating closely with developers, QA, and platform teams to optimize workflows.
